I'm Melissa. Here be my thoughts on books and whatever it is I'm reading that day. Enjoy. |
I love books because they don’t expect anything out of you. They don’t look at you and expect you to read them. They are there enticing you to read them. They know that not everyone will like them and that they just need to try to get everyone to like them and then settle for the losses.
I love books because the characters inside mean more to me than actual people. The characters have this way of laying there souls bare to you, and most people just don’t do that.
I love books because they help make friends. Occasionally. People who read all the time might be a bit more shy than others. But if you approach them about a book they’re reading, or about a classic you just know they’ve read? They’ll talk for hours about that book.
I love books because…well, because they’re always there. For every emotion there is a book. And that book never leaves your shelf. It’s always there, waiting to be picked up and read. And that’s pretty cool.
The only issue here is that my lack of patience makes reading classics annoying and pointless. It doesn’t help that...
